After CBSE announced the cancellation of class 12 board examinations on June 1, 2021. The most asked question among the students is how their papers would be evaluated and what would be the marking scheme. On June 4, CBSE established a 13 member committee to decide the marking criteria for the 12th board exams. The committee was asked to submit the evaluation process by June 14th but the students have to wait till any further announcement is made by CBSE.
According to reports, the committee has asked for an extension of two days. The members conducted a meeting on Saturday and discussed the concern. PM Narendra Modi said that whatever decision the committee takes, should prioritize student’s interest and should put an end to students, parents and teachers’ anxiety. As per sources, the CBSE might direct the schools to evaluate the result according to the performance based on the past three years.
The Ministry Official on the condition of anonymity said, “ The board consensus was to factor in marks scored in the class 10 Boards, Class 11(annual exam) and class 12 pre-boards. There were differences in the exact weightage to be given to each component. That final decision will be taken by CBSE”.
After the announcement, the candidates can check the marking scheme by logging onto the CBSE official website, “cbse.gov.in”. On the other hand, students who are dissatisfied with the results can appear for the examination, once the circumstances become safe to conduct.
