More about Vaccination drive:
Until now more than 21.3 million vaccine doses have been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination drive. Today, Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, inaugurated a free immunization clinic for journalists and their families at a government school in ITO.
The Indian government notified the Supreme Court on Monday that by the end of 2021, it will be able to inoculate the entire adult population of the country. The Serum Institute of India will produce 90 million AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines in June, up from around 65 million doses per month today. For June 2021, over 12 crore doses of the COVID vaccine would be available. In May 2021, there were 7,94,05,200 doses available for the National COVID Vaccination Program. Also, the Center intends to start experimenting with the possibility of combining two distinct covid-19 vaccines to see if this will assist in increasing the immune response to the virus.
Many governments, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Bihar, and Goa, have prolonged the lockdown or restrictions for a week or a fortnight in June despite the dropping trend throughout the states. Due to a decline in new instances and a lower positivity rate, some states such as Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh have allowed a phased-in lifting of the “corona curfew” restrictions.
Moreover, the corona curfew in Delhi is lifted today, with the return of industrial and building operations. Nevertheless, the corona curfew in Jammu and Kashmir as per the news will be lifted only at night and on weekends. Shops and marketplaces outside containment zones in Uttar Pradesh will be allowed to open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting June 1, although weekend lockdown and a night curfew of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. will prevail.
