Rajasthan Board of Secondary Examination’s board exam for the academic year 2020-2021 was canceled. Rajasthan’s chief minister Ashok Gehlot informed the citizens yesterday that the board exams are canceled considering the pandemic situation.
Recently, CBSE class 12 examinations were cancelled. Following the same, RBSE decided to cancel the board examinations for classes 10 and 12. The cabinet meeting held the previous night with the government officials, revealed that the examinations will be cancelled.
In view of the widespread pandemic, schools were shut down throughout the year. Due to this classes were held online. But this wasn’t as convenient as offline classes. Many students didn’t attend or just didn’t listen to the classes. The student’s reactions went unnoticeable because of this online mode of teaching. There was also another complaint of students using mobile phones for long hours in the name of attending online classes.
In the purview of this, the government decided to impose a time limit for the classes to reduce their screen time. The examination for classes 10 and 12 was a matter of debate throughout the country. With CBSE canceling the examinations, many states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand canceled examinations for classes 10 and 12.
Following a few other states, the Rajasthan government informed the public that the board examinations are cancelled. Speaking about the criteria for the result, it hasn’t been informed and CM Shri Ashok Gehlot said that it will be revealed soon. CBSE also hasn’t let their students know about the criteria for the marking of examinations. Many are believing that the criteria will be based on the past 3 years marks or based on revision examinations that the school has conducted this year either through online mode or offline mode.
Students are happy with the news. Yet, they are unhappy about the results. Hope soon the government will take the decision to express the criteria for marking.
