California’s Coachella Music Festival is all set to be organised in the coming April of 2022. Last year in October, the organisers were planning to hold the event and were working to bring back the fest. Meanwhile, the epidemic stood out as a huge issue for the conduction of the program.
The Organisers on Tuesday corroborated that the ‘Coachella Music festival’ held in the southern California desert will return for the first time after a gap of two years. Last year, the fest was possibly cancelled due to the amid surge in Covid 19 cases across the globe. Co-founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in the year 1999, this music festival is a 20 year old fest where celebrities and singers around the world perform live songs and other artistic performances. The show brings millions of audience to an open-air site in Indio which is situated in the east of Los Angeles.
As per a report, The idea of Conducting the event last October was scrapped mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic. Usually, Coachella sells its tickets out for approx 1,25,000 per day and around 1,00,000 people across the world travel and congregate which can ultimately lead to a high risk of spreading the virus to a huge population.
The pandemic has created a huge drastic impact on the live-entertainment business. Due to the ongoing pandemic, one of the entertainment live event industries lost more than $30 billion in 2020.
The April 2022 dates have been decided to be on the weekends as April 15-17 and April 22-24. The organisers are yet to announce the Performers for this year’s festival. In October 2020, the artists who were part of the performing team for the event included Frank Ocean, Rage against the Machine and Travis Scott.
