It is always said that art has the power to heal hearts, tell stories that matter, and bridge the gap between generations, with its articulate representation of what happened. Art has the power to bring out the truth in a way that heals.
As residents of India, our literature, stories and movies have always shown us one side of the story. Out of literature and movies made upon partition, war and other dynamics that we share with our neighbours, love stories always have a way of standing out and promoting how heart over hate will always be the winner when push comes to shove.
Shows and movies like Dastaan, Refugee and Gadar have showcased cross border love stories and after a very long time, Zee entertainment’s Zindagi, which is the first general entertainment channel or GEC to air Pakistani shows in India, is coming up with another web series starring Pakistani couple Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Ahad Mir in the lead roles.
The show is an upcoming cross border love story which tells the story of two people who lose their fathers to war and realise how they have similar pain and interconnected lives. This becomes the foundation of a friendship and later, love follows.
