The gates of the world-famous Kedarnath temple in the mountains of Uttarakhand opened at 5 am on Monday after a six-month winter period. The temple was decorated with attractive flowers to justify this moment. As many as 11 quintals of flowers were used to decorate the temple. Devotees have not been allowed to enter the temple as the Corona crisis has intensified this year as well as last year.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat shared the information on Twitter. The doors of the temple of Lord Kedarnath, known all over the world as the 11th Jyotirlinga, were opened at 5 am on Monday after the traditional pooja-archa. The ceremony was performed on the auspicious occasion of Aries marriage. I pray to Baba Kedarnath to keep everyone healthy ‘, he tweeted.
He also appealed to the devotees to offer Shraddha Sum to Kedarnath from home even though entry to the temple is prohibited for devotees. He also informed that under the guidance of Shri Bhimashankar Lingam, priests will perform daily pooja-archa in the temple every day.
