West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee on Friday skipped the meeting with PM Narendra Modi on the issue of Cyclone Yaas, and also, she criticized the top BJP leaders. However, CM Banerjee met PM for 15-minute
interaction and submitted a report on the damage that was caused by the cyclone Yaas in her state. She also sought the relief package of Rs 20, 000 crore for the worst affected area. PM Narendra Modi came for the survey in the two states i.e., Orissa and Bengal to review the post-cyclone conditions and situation.
He took the survey of cyclone-affected areas and held meetings in both states. While Orissa CM “Narayan Patnaik” attended the meeting with Modi Banerjee skipped the reviewing meeting in her own state. Over Union Minister, Mr. Ami Shah said that Banerjee has put “Arrogance about the public welfare “.
Cyclone Yaas has affected many areas and several common citizens and all they need assistance those are affected. But sadly, ‘Didi’ put her arrogance over the welfare of the people of her own state and today’s behaviour reflect that “BJP national President JP Nada said, PM Modi is looking and attending meetings with the Chief Ministers for people’s good, whereas Banerjee is indulging in party politics that go against the welfare of the Bengali’s people. Senior BJP Leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh termed Banerjee’s behaviour “an unfortunate example of placing political differences above constitutional duty of public service”.
This type of behaviour with the Prime Minister who came specially for helping the people of Bengal in the time of this
epidemic and calamity is painful. PM Narendra Modi released an issue and announced a financial aid of Rs 1,000 crore for the relief activities. Rs 500 crore has been announced to give to Jharkhand and West Bengal which will be released on the basis of damage. Also, The Prime Minister has announced to give Rs 50,000 for those who are seriously injured in the cyclone.
