The incident where three women beat a 7-year-old boy to death near Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu for allegedly driving a demon has caused a great stir.

A 7-year-old boy who lived with his parents near Arani in Thiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu is said to be unwell for a few days. It is believed by his relatives that he is to be possessed by a demon.
It is alleged that the boy shouted at night and then the three women together attacked the boy and pressed his neck.
When some people living near that locality opposed this evil act, the 3 ladies attacked them as well. Following this, three women took turns beating and torturing the boy, claiming to chase away the demon from his body. The boy succumbed to his injuries and was beaten by three women in a row. The boy died shortly afterward and the Kannamangalam police station was informed.
Police are planning to take action against Bakiyalakshmi. Thilakavathi and Kavitha of Kevi Kuppam beat the boy to death in this situation. Police are taking action on a complaint lodged against three women for allegedly beating the boy to death overnight claiming that the boy was not medically fit.
The body of the deceased boy was sent to Vellore Government Hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, three arrested women have confessed that the boy died of epilepsy.
