In a joint statement, Amir Khan and Kiran Rao stated they want to start a new chapter in their life as co-parents and family for each other.
Despite 15 years of marriage, Bollywood star Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao declared their divorce, stating they had been planning to separate for some time and finally felt ready to do so. The pair stated they were living apart but embracing their lives like an extended family in a joint statement. “We will also continue to collaborate on films, the Paani Foundation, and other initiatives that we are passionate about,” according to the statement.
“We’ve shared a lifetime of adventures, pleasure, and laughter in these 15 wonderful years together, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect, and love. We’d want to start a new chapter in our life now that we’re no longer husband and wife, but co-parents and family members for each other,” it read.
Khan and Rao, who acquainted on the shooting of Khan’s 2001 hit film “Lagaan,” married in December 2005. In December 2011, they gave birth to their son Azad Rao Khan. It added, “We remain devoted parents to our son Azad, who we will nurture and raise together.”
They expressed gratitude to their families and appreciation to the following people.
