New Strain of Bird Flu Virus - H10N3 case was reported in China
China reported the first case of the bird flu virus named H10N3. The first human case was reported in Jiangsu province in China. China’s National Health Commission was informed on Tuesday.

A man from the city of Zhenjiang was admitted to a hospital on May 28 due to the symptoms of the new virus. This patient is in good condition now and can be discharged soon from the hospital. Health officials in China reveal that this virus has a very low probability of causing a pandemic. This information by the officials relaxed people all over the world after knowing that the bird flu doesn’t involve a risk of spreading like a pandemic.

Many variations of bird flu are found all throughout the world. The very recent example of the outbreak of bird flu in India is in the Kuttanad region of Kerala. Generally, many strains of this bird flu are found all over the world.

This bird flu is infected humans through contact with the infected bird’s nasal, mouth, or eye secretions. Those who work in Poultry easily affected by the infections of bird flu.

The patient, infected by H10N3 avian influenza was hospitalized immediately after having few symptoms. But the health officials didn’t reveal how this patient was infected with the new variation of bird flu – H10N3.  His relations and friends, who were in contact with him, were tested negative for this H10N3 virus.

China’s National Health Commission says, “H10N3 is a low pathogenic, or relatively less severe, the strain of the virus in poultry and the risk of it spreading on a large scale was very low”. Due to many other strains of Bird Flu, mortalities have been reported earlier too. But, this H10N3 doesn’t have the possibility of spreading into a pandemic.  This H10N3 strain wasn’t reported anywhere in the world.
